Our Get To Know Us series takes a look at the journeys of some of the Enigen team in their time here, to give you a real insight into what it’s like to work with us. Recently, our Marketing Apprentice Aja Cheal sat down with Analyst Kameron John to discuss his time at Enigen so far.
Kameron joined Enigen in September 2021, after studying Computer Science at the University of Essex.
Kameron: “My time at university helped me to gain insight into programming, coding, and problem solving as well as build people skills since many tasks required me to work collaboratively with other students.
I began to look for jobs within the tech industry in my last year at university. A friend of a friend who worked at Enigen referred me to the business which instantly caught my eye due to the positive feeling I got around the working environment and the potential to grow straight out of university.”

“I didn’t originally imagine myself becoming an Analyst, but because of the communication and interpersonal skills I built at university, when I saw the position at Enigen, I started to imagine it as an opportunity to grow, learn, and find a path to build my career from.
I also felt that the skillset I had already gained would put me in a good position to pick up different technologies and adapt them to different business cases, which is part of the skill of being an Analyst. Having the opportunity to work on different products and essentially create different ideas for how a customer can utilise what we specialise in is one of the key reasons I enjoy my role. I feel that as an Analyst, I am gaining relevant experience on my pathway to becoming a consultant.
I like the company culture too – I can very comfortably interact with my co-workers, whether it’s to ask for advice or help, or even just confer over thoughts on a project.”

“One challenging aspect of my role is that there are often many different answers to different questions, what applies to one business may not apply to the next. It’s a learn-as-you-go process where you have to adapt to different client’s needs in order to deliver the best outcome for them. Technology is always developing to adapt to business needs, meaning nothing is ever the same for a long period of time. It’s inevitable within this industry that you’re constantly learning, due to the continuous evolution of technology.”
“The way we all interact within the business is one of the things I like most about working at Enigen. Being able to confidently reach out to more senior colleagues is something I know can be difficult in other businesses and industries. At Enigen, everyone seems to share the same passion and drive to work together and deliver quality to clients.
On top of that, I really do appreciate the focus Enigen has on mental health and looking after ourselves as it’s a key aspect of being able to manage our workload and keep a healthy mind. I like that the People & Culture team organise regular Ted Talks, for example, we recently had one on the topic of the importance of name pronunciation, which I felt was very important.”
