Our Get To Know Us series takes a look at the journeys of some of our team in their time here, to give you real insight into what it’s like to work with us. Recently I sat down with Joshua Mehigan, Support Analyst, to talk about his time at Enigen so far.
Joshua joined us in the peak of the ‘third lockdown’ here in the UK, in February 2021. He joined Enigen out of college, after a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing as well as an internship in IT Support for a local Law firm in Colchester.
Joshua: “My Diploma touched on both the Hardware and Software elements of computing, and my internship was really hardware focused, so in my first professional role I knew I wanted to focus on the software side of things. I wanted to join Enigen as the role really offered exactly what I was looking for at the starting point in my career, and the partnership we have with Oracle is really valuable for me in terms of being able to work with best-of-breed solutions.”
“Starting during lockdown was daunting as we weren’t able to meet in person, but the introductory meetings I had with each department were really helpful. I was given really clear instructions on where to go or who to speak to if I needed help or guidance in certain areas – Erin (Enigen’s Director of People & Culture) made the online experience really manageable. And when we finally met in person everything was really natural – it was just great to get to know everyone face-to-face!”
“What I really love about my role is the team environment. Everyone in the support team has their own areas and products we specialise in but Evan (Senior Manager – Implementation & Support) encourages us to work with each other and learn from each other’s skillsets and specialisms. Enigen really gives you the opportunity to grow and take on more responsibility, but it’s not forced on you – you take it in your own time.”
“My next steps are to continue to grow my skills in the applications I work with, learning from our Consultants and more experienced Support Analysts and working to support our customers. I’d like to work my way up and possibly manage the Enigized team in future, or join the Consultancy team. There’s great options.”
